CLI Tools

The CCVS command line interface (CLI) tools allow you to control CCVS from the Unix shell prompt. You can also use the CLI tools from shell scripts.

cvcli is the most powerful tool. It provides a direct command-line interface to the CCVS API. You can type commands to call all the CCVS API functions directly.

cvbatch takes a data file of transactions, and runs them through CCVS.

The remaining four tools are simply direct interfaces to CCVS API functions. For example, cvstatus is the same as typing "status" in the cvcli tool, or calling cv_status() in the C API.

cvstatus reports the status of a single transaction.

cvdelete deletes a single transaction.

cvlist lists all the transactions in a particular state.

cvreport reports the status of the background processing daemons. (These are ccvsd and cvupload.)

Administrative Tools

These programs handle the work of CCVS in the background.

ccvsd runs in the background and processes on-line transactions, such as auths and reversals.

cvupload runs periodically and processes off-line transactions, such as sales, returns, and voids.
