Focus on High Performance Computing

The rapid increases in performance of industry-standard Intel hardware, coupled with the advances in cluster computing, have commoditized the High Performance (HPC) market in recent years. Customers like Amerada Hess and NASA have successfully deployed highly intensive CPU-based processing applications, while saving millions of dollars through the combination of clustered Intel servers and Red Hat Linux.

As customers eschew expensive proprietary mainframes and supercomputers in favor of Linux Beowulf clusters, Red Hat has developed a complete process for the design, integration and deployment of HPC solutions through its High Performance Computing offering. Addressing the unique requirements of your IT environment, Red Hat can enable and deliver solutions of all sizes, from massively parallel processing systems with hundreds or thousands of nodes, to less complex environments with less than fifty nodes that will scale as required over time.

Red Hat has experience in delivering comprehensive cluster solutions to markets that require computational power quickly, easily and economically. These markets include biotech, financial, geophysical, entertainment, manufacturing and government. Our consultants have experience with a wide range of cluster hardware and software packages, both open source and proprietary. We also develop and integrate software to enable cluster administration services such as remote management and maintenance.

The professional services engagement model follows Red Hat's four-phase process, tailored specifically for High Performance Computing needs.
