If you're using either the GNOME or KDE GUI desktop environments, just
place the Red Hat Linux Secure Server CD into your CD-ROM drive. You'll be prompted for the
root password. After you type in the root password, either the
Gnome-RPM or
Kpackage package management program will
start automatically. You can then use either of these GUI
point-and-click programs to install the Red Hat Linux Secure Server RPM packages.
More information on how to use Gnome-RPM is
included in both the Official Red Hat Linux Getting Started Guide and in the
Official Red Hat Linux Reference Guide (on the Red Hat Linux 6.2 Documentation
CD). Instructions on how to use Kpackage are
included on the KPackage Handbook at http://www.general.uwa.edu.au/u/toivo/kpackage/.
You'll need to install the following packages in order to run your
secure server: openssl and
mod_ssl. After you've installed these packages,
install any of the optional packages that you've chosen. Descriptions
of the optional packages are included in the section called Choose Which Packages to Install.
