Chapter 5. Configuring Optional PackagesThis chapter contains basic information on how to configure software that can provide extra functionality to the Red Hat Linux Secure Server. Please note that instructions are provided here for mod_perl, PHP and Squid, which are not provided with the Red Hat Linux Secure Server. However, mod_perl, PHP, and Squid are included in Red Hat Linux 6.2. Configuring Apache::ASPTo enable Apache::ASP, you'll need to first make sure that the following packages are installed: perl-Apache-filter, perl-Apache-SSI, perl-Devel-Symdump, perl-HTML-Clean, perl-HTML-Parser, perl-HTML-SimpleParse, perl-MIME-Base64, perl-MLDBM, perl-URI, perl-libnet and perl-libwww. (If you're using RPM to install the packages, the command rpm -Uvh perl*.rpm will install them all.) You'll also need to have the mod_perl package (provided with Red Hat Linux) installed. Once the mod_perl package is installed, the mod_perl module needs to be loaded in to Apache. For instructions on how to add mod_perl, see the section called Configuring mod_perl. After the mod_perl module is loaded into Apache, edit your httpd.conf file. You'll need to add the following three lines:
Now you can customize your ASP configuration file, and then stop and start your Web server, as described in the section called Starting and Stopping Your Server in Chapter 3. Apache::ASP should now serve pages out of the /asp directory. The Apache::ASP configuration file is /etc/httpd/conf/asp.conf. You'll need to change directives in this file if you want to customize Apache::ASP. See the Apache::ASP Web page at http://www.nodeworks.com/asp/ for more information on configuring Apache::ASP. |
