This chapter contains basic information on how to configure software that
can provide extra functionality to the Red Hat Linux Apache/SSL Server. Please note that
instructions are provided here for mod_perl, PHP and Squid, which are not
provided with the Red Hat Linux Apache/SSL Server. However, mod_perl, PHP, and Squid are included
in Red Hat Linux 6.1.
To enable Apache-ASP, you'll need to first make sure that the packages
perl_Apache_ASP,
perl-Devel-Symdump,
perl-HTML-Parser, perl-MIME,
perl-MLDBM, perl-URI,
perl-libnet and perl-libwww
(all included with Red Hat Linux Apache/SSL Server) are all installed. You'll also need to have
the mod_perl package (provided with Red Hat Linux)
installed.
Once the mod_perl package is installed, the
mod_perl module needs to be loaded in to Apache. For instructions on how
to add mod_perl, see the section called Configuring mod_perl. After the
mod_perl module is loaded into Apache, edit your
httpd.conf file. Near the end of the file, you'll
need to uncomment three lines (remove the "#") so that they look like
the following:
<IfModule mod_perl.c>
Include /etc/httpd/conf/asp.conf
<IfModule>
|
Now you can customize your ASP configuration file, and then stop and
start your Web server, as described in the section called Starting and Stopping Your Server in Chapter 4. Apache-ASP should now serve pages
out of the /asp directory.
