This programme is free to join, but the reseller has to have at least one Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). The programme will help resellers maximise market opportunity while maintaining the highest standards of service to customers buying through the channel. Iain Farthing, Red Hat?s Northern European Channel Sales Manager said, ``The underlying purpose of the Programme is to ensure that the channel has all the right skills to sell Linux. Red Hat recognises that much of the success of Linux has been the direct result of unprecedented co-operation among many diverse people, organisations and companies throughout the world. The Red Hat Reseller Programme is a critical building block for the success of the open source movement and for Red Hat.'' Red Hat Certified Resellers will have access to the Reseller Zone, an online tool for resellers that contains marketing and sales resources designed to help the reseller promote Red Hat Linux solutions. Red Hat will also publish a list of all resellers in Europe on www.europe.redhat.com/reseller to enable end users to find their nearest reseller. To assist resellers Red Hat is offering an `Early bird' discount of 10% off the usual price of £1599 ex VAT for all courses booked and completed before 29th February 2000. ``Our Red Hat Certified Reseller Programme will give the channel the appropriate skills to help them implement their Red Hat Linux Solution. It is also important that standards are consistent across Red Hat?s global operations,'' added Farthing. Certification courses are arranged upon request, giving applicants complete flexibility to suit their agenda. Details of certification training packages are found on the following URL: http://www.redhat.com/products/training.html. To register onto one of the courses please email training-uk@redhat.com with RHCR as the subject line to ensure you receive the discount. About Red Hat, Inc.
